Atlantic City Casino Industry Shows 30% First Quarter Profit

The first quarter of the year looks to be very good for the casino industry in the Atlantic City.


The industry has recorded $139.2 million gross operating profit during the first quarter of 2017. This is a very good figure and what this amount means is that the casino industry has seen a growth rate of 30% when compared to its gross profits for the first quarter in 2016.

There is a boost in the earnings and collections overall in the casino industry. The amount collected by the casinos from Jan 1 to March 31 of 2017 is $816.7 million and the cash collected through casinos for the same period in 2016 was $803.1 million. This means that there is an increase of 1.7% cash take in this year than the last year for the first quarter period. The wins at the casino also have increased and this year it is $602 million of the total cash revenue, which is an increase of about 4% from the last year. Layne Flack Leads The Monster Stack

The Caribbean festival of the 2016 World Series of Poker third ring event is going at the Casino Royale.


The event has the presence of 109 players. And this is a re-buy event. The additional 27 re-entries increased the field of the game to the 136 entries in total. Now, 136 players will fight to make it to the final table of the event. The event has the prize pool of $40,800 and players till the top 15th position will get a minimum amount of $690. On the other hand, the winner of the event will get an elusive WSOP Circuit ring and a cash amount of $11,400.

As the game started, the field of 136 players did not manage to remain in the game for a long time. After 15 levels in the match that went for 30 minutes each, the field gets shortened to just 29. In the game, the player, Layne Flack with 363,500 claimed the lead. While, Willie Janssen with 237,000 in the $365 Six-Handed Event finished 3rd.

Poker Central believes that it has a winning hand with new cable channel

Skinny cable-channel packages are the newest trend as media executives recognize that there are so many twenty-four-hour cable channels that can introduce, or that the people in America have time to watch. A new 24 hour poker channel is all set to be introduced for the fifty-five million poker fans across the nation.
In an interview recently, Clint Stinchomb, the CEO of Poker Central, told that more people play poker compared to golf or tennis. Tennis is a micro-niche. Poker is not a micro-niche. This is a huge market. Stinchomb told that both ESPN and Fox televise big-money poker events.
Recently, Poker Central declared that they have signed their very first distribution contract with a Toledo cable system. Stinchomb anticipated more announcements this year. Apart from Toledo, poker fans could access Poker Central application through Amazon Fire, Roku, Xbox and Apple TV, said Stinchomb. These platforms are backed by Comcast, said a spokeswoman. Day 1b of 2015 WPT Canadian Spring Championship lead by Afriat

2015 partypoker.net World Poker Tour Canadian Spring Championship attracted 234 players on the second Day 1 flight and to the Poker Club situated outside of Montreal, Quebeck, Canada.

Adding the 136 players coming from first flight to the Saturday play would put the count of participants officially at 370 and this is the 14th Season’s is first stop  of the tour.
At the end of the day on Saturday, Eric Afriat, the 2014 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown champion grabbed the chip lead from a field of 102 players. The day for Afriat started hot, and he collected 90,000 hardly into the first level and half, though he encountered a few obstacles on the way be ultimately accounted to 212,200 and the consequent lead.
Jason Duval stood second with 188, 400 chips followed by Kevin Sing with 187,700 for the third spot. Jason Duval, winner of the 2013 World Series Poker bracelet and finalist of WPT Canadian Spring Championship ended the day on the top list along with Laurence Grondin, WSOP final tablist, Darryll Fish, the WSOP Circuit winner and also the Marvin Rettenmaier, the WPT Champions Club member.
The players to hit the rail at the end of the day included Mike Sexton, the Poker Hall of Fame m ember, Jonathan Duhamel, the 2010 WSOP Main Event Champion and Jonathan Jaffe, the 2014 WPT Montreal winner.
